Local Scholars Lecture Series: The James Webb Space Telescope: Our $18 Billion Time Machine

About this event

Are you curious about the James Webb Space Telescope, how it came into being, how it works, what secrets may be revealing about the universe? Then, don’t miss this outstanding live PowerPoint presentation, the fourth in our now ongoing "Local Scholars Lecture Series" in partnership with Omnilore Learning in Retirement.

Join us on Zoom on Wednesday, October 30th, from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, for “The James Webb Space Telescope: Our $18 Billion Dollar Time Machine” by Omnilore member Leslie Criswell.  This presentation was honored by Omnilore for being one of the more outstanding ones given during their Fall Trimester 2023 and will now get an encore performance for the PVP Village as well as for Omnilore members who did not have the opportunity to hear the presentation the first time it was given.

Leslie’s presentation is an outgrowth of an Omnilore study discussion group centered around Neil De Grasse Tyson’s book, “Origins: 14 Billion Years of Cosmic Evolution.”

Leslie is a retired trial attorney, high school Law teacher, and proud grandmother.

The lecture will be followed by a question-and-answer period.
