Our speaker will be Omnilorean Cordelia Hwang.
Who are our ancient ancestors and where did they come from? Recent scientific advances are uncovering details that are reshaping our understanding of prehistory. This talk will be an introduction to the sequencing of ancient DNA and the discoveries that have been revealed.
Cordelia’s presentation was an outgrowth of a Spring 2024 Omnilore study/discussion group centered around Kenneth Harl’s book “Empires of the Steppes: A History of the Nomadic Tribes Who Shaped Civilization. Who are our ancient ancestors and where did they come from? Recent scientific advances are uncovering details that are reshaping our understanding of prehistory. This talk will be an introduction to the sequencing of ancient DNA and the discoveries that have been revealed.
Cordelia’s presentation was an outgrowth of a Spring 2024 Omnilore study/discussion group centered around Kenneth Harl’s book “Empires of the Steppes: A History of the Nomadic Tribes Who Shaped Civilization.
Cordelia is a retired research chemist whose career focused on the quality of southern California’s drinking water. In retirement she has enjoyed traveling, learning about other sciences, and more recently reading about history.
